We all have scars. Some are superficial and physical, some dig deeper. By nature, we seem to be ashamed of them. We hide them, cover them up and hope no one catches a glimpse.
To us it's an ugly reminder of an injury. A reminder of the pain we felt from the past. To us those scars are as real as the incident that caused them.
The truth is no one in the outside world sees those scars any greater than we see them ourselves.
We let them be bad images of pain from our past, instead of being reminders that we endured and survived to make a better future.
"Scars are not signs of our pain, but signs of our survival."

I KNOW who this one is for! :-]
ReplyDeleteWhat you say is so true. I have that scar on my heart from getting that phone call from Laurelwood. It continues to be my "tear moment" every time I see that scene in the movie. The first time we found out what was going on. It confimrmed out worst fears.
Scars are scary. Scars are sad. But scars are proof that something painful was indeed healed, it is just every once in awhile they cause pain to let you know they are still there...and every day, it gets littler and littler but will always be there. It gives us a road map for how to change and act for the future so you don't get another one.
Sometimes, (I have been told) I am a little stubborn and don't learn as quickly...I don't know what they are talking about!
I love you Ryan.
Let's work together towards that dream of ours, opening night at a theater on Hollywood boulevard!
BTW...perfect pic for this one!
